April 2006:  Here you see the ridge beam again, lying flat so I could drill through to bolt it together.  Once I had it bolted together and mounted a temporary center guide fixture, I tipped it up for crane access.

A closer look at the center guide fixture, which will help with left-right alignment as the crane lowers the beam.  I rented some scaffolding for safe(r), steady footing while working topside.

I mounted top guides on one end and in the middle "A's" for front-back alignment as the beam is lowered.  I planned to manually guide the beam into the last slot.  The crane arrived and leveled off before hooking to the ridge beam.

The ridge beam is now fully seated, but it took some nudging.  The last thing I did was mount some heavy sheet metal brackets to secure the main supports.
